Restriction of buying real estate
On the basis of Article 68 of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia, the foreigners can acquire property rights to immovable property in the Republic of Slovenia under the condition of reciprocity and under conditions laid down by the law and international agreement, respectively, ratified by the National Assembly. Reciprocity is established when the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia or any legal person with its registered office in the Republic of Slovenia are able to acquire proprietary rights to immovable property in the resident countries of foreigners under the same or similar conditions under which foreigners are able to acquire proprietary rights to immovable property in the Republic of Slovenia and the meeting of which is not particularly harder for the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia or any legal person with its registered office in the Republic of Slovenia from the meeting of conditions by foreigners laid down in the Slovenian legislation.
