Some basic facts about Slovenia
Slovenia lies at the heart of Europe, where the Alps and the Mediterranean meet the Pannonian plains and the mysterious Karst. To the north is Austria; to the east, Hungary; to the south, Croatia; and to the west, Italy.
Although it is rather small country it is very colourful: from high mountains to the seaside. Slovenia has a rich history. It became independent in 1991 and member of EU on the 1st May 2004.
Turists visiting Slovenia find it very attractive because of its beautiful nature and kind people. Every part of the country is interesting to visit and to live.
